anyone that knows me, knows that i am ALL ABOUT Christmas! i LOVE it! i love everything about it. shopping for presents, putting up decorations, listening to Christmas music, sending out Christmas cards, going to Christmas Eve service, spending time with family, making Christmas cookies, and, no i'm not ashamed to say it ... opening presents! yes, mom, i know, it's about time for me to grow up. this year i even tried to add a tradition ... i attempted to get Brad to agree for us to go and cut down our own tree. haha. yeah, it didn't go so well ... maybe next year?!?! anyway ... the best thing about this year is being able to share all the fun things i love about Christmas and all our family traditions with Isabella. last year it was a blessing to have had her, but she was too little to really enjoy it. i know she doesn't understand everything this year either; however, she is so much fun right now. she babbles non-stop and actually has a growing vocabulary. she dances with me in the car when i turn on music and sometimes even attempts to sing along. she laughs all the time and sometimes even at herself! anyway ... back to Christmas ... we got the season started off right with three fun events last weekend. on saturday morning, i worked an event for the children's hospital called "breakfast with santa" and Brad brought Isabella to see me. we actually got her to sit on santa's lap long enough for a picture, but that is the one i can't post b/c it was not my camera! she ate pancakes and eggs and then "worked" with me at the crafts table for a little while. it was so much fun and she loved watching all the other kids. then, miss priss was invited to two different "cookie parties" that were held on sunday. she didn't get her afternoon nap in, but she managed to stay awake with a little help from the icing. haha!
well ... if i keep typing away, the dinner i managed to cook tonight will burn ... so, on to the good stuff ... fun pictures:
Thanksgiving in NWA:
Isabella is all clean and ready for cousin Jack to get in the tub, too!
Cousin Jack is not too sure about the idea ...
So cute! Isabella & Jack
(so ... i guess alli & jeff have all the good pics of the family ... i just got bath time)
Cookie Party Mania:
Isabella is NOT happy with me for putting her on Santa's lap and walking away!
I thought since she had done okay on Saturday I might get lucky ... I guess I pushed my luck!
"well, maybe he's not so bad if he will read to me"
sweet face ... now why couldn't she do that on Santa's lap?!?!
warming up to Santa ... from a distance ...
sweet babies ... tired moms ... we hide it well, i think :)
helping Isabella decorate a cookie ... she discovers the icing ...
trying to show her where the icing should go ...
at the next party ... all she sees is icing ... no lesson learned ...
haha ... a girl after my own heart right here! (at one point she was double fisting ... i was too busy scrambling to keep her from inhaling it that i didn't get a picture)
Isabella and sweet Erin, the hostess with the mostest!
Me with Isabella & Anna Beth (my friend, Amber's red-headed cutie)
Sweet Amber w/ Isabella & Anna Beth (the missed nap time kicking in for Isabella)
as you can see, we are kicking off the season right! on a serious note, this Christmas i want to thank the Lord for all the blessings in my life ... all the gifts He has provided in the past and all those that are to come! in case i don't get around to another update until 2010 ... have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!
I LOVE that you love Christmas and are getting Isabella into all the traditions! She is ADORABLE--looks like this whole parenting thing gets even better as they beging to interact more! Can't wait! Happy Holidays!
